ENROLLMENT

To be eligible for a CDL, you must be at least 18 years old, have a valid & good standing Texas driver's license and pass a D.O.T physical Exam and Drug test. I have two proofs of Texas residency, social security, and valid passport, green card and US Citizenship.

ELDT (ENTRY LEVEL DRIVING TRAINING) AND CLP (PERMIT)

To qualify to get your CDL permit you must Take the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) with us which is 32 videos and pass 4 different written tests (Texas requirements, General knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combinations) at the local DPS office.

BEHIND THE WHEEL TRAINING (BTW)

You must have your CLP and complete entry level training hours with us for "BTW Range-maneuvers" & BTW-Road driving". We will report your training hours to the TPR developed by FMCSA so you may take your road test at the DPS.

ROAD TEST

Once you complete your training with KING CDL Academy, we will submit your record to the TPR which was developed by FMCSA. You must pass a two and half hour-long road test consisting of Pre-trip, Maneuvers & Road to get your Commercial Driving License. We will provide the truck for your test.

Permit (CLP)

With Online permit book, you can easily pass 4 tests at DPS.

ELDT Training

Our Excellent ELDT (Entry Level Driver Training) online program, prepares you for the CLP (permit) and behind-the-wheel (BTW) part of your CDL (Commercial Driver License)

Pre- Trip Inspection

Our Pre - Trip inspection book and videos is the gold standard. It is fast and easy to learn. We let you practice every day to be able to learn all parts of the trucks.

Backing Maneuvers

Our Straight Back, Offset and Parallel Park method is extremely easy to learn. You will practice for 2 weeks to make sure you are ready for test.

Behind the Wheel (BTW) Training

You will learn how to drive semi-truck on the road like a very professional driver. You will learn how to control the truck with automatic or manual transmission on the road.

DPS Testing

All our trucks are registered, insured, and meet the requirements for CDL class A testing. The trucks will be ready for you at DPS for your 2-hour road test.
